SAP BTP Administrator

At NDC Group, we are looking for someone to join the team that delivers SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) solutions for international clients. The work goes from the provisioning and configuring of environments, through access security and deployments, to day-to-day operations and fixing what breaks.

The team is small, which means direct influence over how things are done and clear ownership of keeping the environments up.

If you also bring SQL and SAP HANA Cloud knowledge, you will use both and the role widens considerably. The core of the job, however, stays with the platform rather than data modelling.

For more than 15 years, we have been helping some of the largest organisations across the UK, DACH region, and Scandinavia improve their financial planning, reporting, and analytics capabilities. Along the way, we have delivered solutions recognised with both innovation and quality awards.

Our core focus is Enterprise Performance Management, Financial Planning, and Data & Analytics, and we leverage technologies such as SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Datasphere, and the broader SAP Business Data Cloud ecosystem.

What you will do

  • Administer environments on SAP BTP - global accounts, directories and subaccounts, entitlements, quotas and service plans, Cloud Foundry orgs and spaces. Provision new environments for clients and for us.
  • Manage access and identity - trust between subaccounts and SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS/IPS), role collections and their mapping to Microsoft Entra ID groups, XSUAA, SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0.
  • Deploy new application versions - build and deployment (MTA, Cloud Foundry CLI, HDI containers), maintaining pipelines in Azure DevOps, transports between environments.
  • Keep connectivity working - destinations, Cloud Connector (installation, upgrades, tunnel monitoring, principal propagation), connecting on-premise systems.
  • Run operations - availability monitoring, logs and alerts, incident handling, raising and escalating tickets with SAP, keeping the client informed during an outage.
  • Watch the things that expire quietly - service keys, certificates, SAML signing certificates, technical user passwords.
  • Operate SAP HANA Cloud tenants - instance sizing, scheduled start/stop, backup and recovery, quarterly upgrades.
  • Track consumption and cost - monitoring and optimization of SAP BTP usage
  • Write documentation - writing environment and access-model documentation good enough to hand to a colleague or an auditor.

What we need

  • Hands-on experience administering SAP BTP - subaccounts, entitlements, roles and trust configuration.
  • An understanding of how authentication and authorization work.
  • Experience deploying applications to the cloud and working with Git - repositories and a build and deploy pipeline.
  • English good enough to run a technical conversation with a client. Most communication is in English.
  • Independence. Requirements often arrive incomplete and you need to go and ask the right people.
  • 2+ years in an operations or administration role in the cloud, ideally at least part of it on SAP BTP.

Nice to have (but certainly not essential):

  • SQL and SAP HANA - calculation views, SQLScript, query tuning.
  • SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS/IPS) in depth, Microsoft Entra ID, SailPoint.
  • SAP Analytics Cloud or SAP Datasphere - tenant operations, authorization management.
  • Cloud Transport Management (cTMS), the BTP CLI knowledge.
  • Experience migrating or separating environments between accounts - repositories, database schemas, tenants.
  • Java or Node.js to the level where you can find your way around an application and build it.
  • SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration (CPI).

Languages:

  • English is essential, as virtually all customer communication, presentations, workshops, and documentation are conducted in English.
  • Any additional language is a plus, but not a requirement.

Why join us?

  • If you are a concept thinker, this role allows you to build and define ideas potentially impacting the largest enterprises in Europe
  • You'll work on business challenges that genuinely matter to executive decision-makers.
  • You'll engage directly with senior business leaders, finance executives, and C-level stakeholders.
  • You will work in a nonsense-free culture with minimal formalities and unnecessary overhead. We enjoy what we do and try to keep both our organization and our way of thinking as lean and practical as possible.
  • Every opportunity is different. Every customer is different. No two weeks look the same.
  • Nobody stops you from your own creative ideas and approaches.
  • While this all might seem spooky, you’ll receive support from our own consultancy teams and other colleagues involved in business development.
  • In a nutshell: This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the intellectual challenge of consulting, the creativity of solution design, and the satisfaction of turning good ideas into real business outcomes. If that's where you thrive, you'll fit right in.
